為提升教師以英語授課（EMI）之教學知能與實務策略，中興大學工學院與農業暨自然資源學院特別邀請英國 University of Southampton 資深教師 Dr. Robert Baird 蒞校分享 EMI 教學與國際高等教育之實務經驗。

Dr. Robert Baird 現任該校國際學生學術中心（Academic Centre for International Students）主任，自2008年起任教於南安普敦大學，長期投入全英語授課（English as a Medium of Instruction, EMI）、全球英語（Global Englishes）、英語作為國際共通語（English as a Lingua Franca, ELF）及跨文化溝通等領域之教學與研究。他亦為南安普敦大學全球英語研究中心（Centre for Global Englishes）創始成員之一，具備豐富的教師培訓及國際高等教育合作經驗，致力於推動兼具包容性、公平性與學術嚴謹度的語言教學與課程設計。

To enhance faculty members’ knowledge and practical strategies for English-Medium Instruction (EMI), the College of Engineering and the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at National Chung Hsing University are pleased to invite Dr. Robert Baird, a senior faculty member from the University of Southampton, UK, to share his experience and insights into EMI teaching and international higher education.

Dr. Robert Baird currently serves as Head of the Academic Centre for International Students (ACIS) at the University of Southampton. Since joining the University in 2008, he has been actively engaged in teaching and research in the areas of English-Medium Instruction (EMI), Global Englishes, English as a Lingua Franca (ELF), and intercultural communication. He is also a founding member of the University of Southampton’s Centre for Global Englishes. With extensive experience in faculty development and international higher education collaboration, Dr. Baird is committed to promoting language education and curriculum design that are inclusive, equitable, and academically rigorous.
